The name of your business is?

Purple Sage

What do you market and sell?

American made/handcrafted clothing, jewelry and accessories.

How would you describe your “typical” client?

40 and up, looking for something fun, different that makes her look good. She is beyond Chico’s and wants clothing that lasts more than one season.

Why did you choose this career path or create your business or fashion line?

I rather think it chose me, in the process of owning Purple Sage, I have discovered that I enjoy buying clothes that make women feel good about themselves, including plus sized women and providing them with quality American made clothing that will last.

Who has influenced your fashion acumen the most?

Initially my mother who made clothes for all of us as children and has a great flair for color and style. Later on, art courses in college and just my love for comfortable, good looking clothing that is easy to take care of.

If there is one thing about your product line, designs, store that you hope to convey it would be?

It’s made in America! And that we have a size range that accommodates the plus sized woman.

What is the one fashion item/design you wish would go away and what would you hope stays “in style” indefinitely?

There is no one style that strikes me as needing to go away, the bad ones usually does go fairly fast and the timeless ones stick around.

The most fun I have working is when………

I get to help my customers with clothing that they get excited about and feel good wearing.
